GEElab students showcase their research at Museums and the Web Asia 2015

On 7 October 2015, GEElab's PhD students Alex Muscat and Will Owen will be presenting their doctoral projects during the Museums and the Web Asia 2015 conference, this year held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Curated by Monash University's Program Director of Graduate Research in Design, Dr Vince Dziekan, Will and Alex have been inviged to discuss their research in the MWX Open Platform – an interactive showcase of design-led museum communications & cultural curating projects, which will be viewed at the Exhibit Hall. Next to Will and Alex, additional studio-based student projects from MADA (Monash Art Design & Architecture) will be shown.

Together, these research projects will demonstrate the values of creative process and concept development characteristic of design-led methods (Communication Design, Interior Architecture, Games). The projects presented will highlight exploratory and experimental approaches to museum technology application by bringing the worlds of Design and Museums together through collaborative practice. The MWX Open Platform will have a presence in the Exhibit Foyer during the conference. During the reception, the projects will be “actively presented” in a discursive format facilitating open discussion, eavesdropping and conversation-bombing.
